Conclusion
　　Itu Aba Island and Pratas Island are the only two islands in the South China Sea defended by the ROC armed forces. They are important not only because of their military location, but also for economic reasons. Pratas Island is to be opened to the public, and eventually Itu Aba will be opened as well. The ocean resources in this area need to be developed efficiently, to make Itu Aba and Pratas shining stars of the South China Sea, not only attracting tourists, but also functioning as a watchtower guarding our national territory.
