There is an air lane for propeller planes on Swallow Reef

　　Among all the islands in the South China Sea, Swallow Reef is the only island where international tourism is permitted. It is therefore very convenient to get to; tourists can just take a plane from Kota Kinabalu to there without needing to go through any special application procedures. It used to be possible to get there by boat, but the passenger service was discontinued, and now the only ships to visit the reef are supply ships, making air travel the only way to get there.
