Pelagic Fishing Map of ROC

　　 The South China Sea has long been famed for its fishery resources. People from the south coast of China have fished here since antiquity. There are large quantities of many different kinds of fish, including stopped groupers, mackerel, perch and lobster. It is also a major area of operation for fishing boats from Taiwan, ROC. However, the other nations, which lay claim to the South China Sea often occupy the sea area and islands, and instigate international fisheries disputes; sometimes they seize fishing boats from the ROC and PRC. This has made fishermen less willing to fish in this area. Chinese fishermen sometimes poison or dynamite the fish, causing serious damage to the sea life and coral. In order to preserve the ocean resources, this should be strictly prohibited. The government of ROC and PRC should build channels of cooperation for the benefit of their people, and should work together to protect the ocean environment.
